Electroless Nickel Plating

We specialise in providing Electroless Nickel plating.

This process is an auto-catalytic reaction used to deposit a coating of nickel on a substrate; which means that it does not require an electric current to pass through the solution to form the deposit. This plating is chosen to provide excellent corrosion and wear resistance.

Often selected as an ‘engineered’ finish in that it provides an even and controlled thickness deposit all over the work irrespective of its geometry. Blind holes and internal surfaces or recesses are coated with even thickness.

Standard finishes are semi-bright or bright.

Coatings are usually in the range of 5 to 25 microns thick, however it is feasible to plate upto 100 micron.

Typical applications include heat sinks, pneumatic valves, rollers and shafts, tools and pcbs.

Expert Developments Ltd are experienced in plating aluminum components with El Ni often followed by an overplate of gold or silver.
